University of Oxford
Friday 9 December 2005
This one-day training seminar, organised by UKSG and Project COUNTER, will give a practical hands-on introduction for library staff on accessing, collating, utilising, presenting, and marketing e-journal usage statistics, both COUNTER-compliant and otherwise. The latest news on COUNTER activities will also be presented, and experts from different sectors will provide their perspectives on the role and importance of usage statistics from a number of different standpoints. Future developments in the provision and exploitation of use measurement statistics will also be covered.
Please note: In order to offer participants hands-on experience, attendance at this training seminar will be limited to 30, and will be restricted in this instance to library staff. For the hands-on session a basic knowledge of IT would be beneficial but the session leaders will provide clear examples of the operations and calculations needed.
UKSG and COUNTER plan to run other training seminars on this topic around the UK, and hope to include those working in other sectors in the future.
